    Ali Stone

    FARM MANAGER

Ali grew up in the vibrant city of Minneapolis, the food cooperative capital of the United States, so she learned about healthy and local foods early on. She found her love for food while working at the Eastside Food Cooperative and utilized the Worldwide Opportunity on Organic Farms Organization to volunteer on over a dozen farms across the U.S.

Landing in Texas in 2014, she started her career on a diversified vegetable farm outside of Austin and has been farming ever since. She co-founded the Central Texas Mycological Society, is an avid supporter of the Central Texas Farmers' Cooperative, loves paddling the river, exploring the woods, and playing rugby with the Austin Valkyries.

She was a founding member and served for many years as the President of the Central Texas Farmers Co-op, was the Operations Manager for the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, and has worked with her hands in the dirt at nurseries and small farms around Hays and Caldwell County since 2013.

When not farming, Frankie loves playing sports with her two sons, traveling to new places, and swimming in the beautiful Central Texas spring-fed rivers and creeks.

    Nia Howze

    FARM ASSISTANT

Relatively new to Austin, Nia Howze has always had a deep passion for food, community, and the outdoors. This curiosity has led them on a journey of diverse experiences, from exploring permaculture in Costa Rica to working as a line cook at Odd Duck, and studying food justice and community gardening during their time at Rice University. Nia earned a degree in ecology and anthropology, where they further developed their belief that disconnection from our food systems perpetuates a wider disconnect from the natural world and from one another. Nia views sustainable agriculture as the key to healing this divide, nourishing and sustaining both our communities and the Earth.

Outside of work, Nia enjoys creative pursuits like dance and film, sharing meals with friends, and spending time outside.

    Alex Van Grunsven

    FARM ASSISTANT

Alex is a ball of energy and has an appetite for all things farming and food. She grew up prancing around Midwestern grasslands amidst cows and corn, but found herself humbled by the Pacific Northwest Douglas Fir trees and unrelenting rain for the past 7 years. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Environmental Science and Food Studies, she poured the subsequent 4 years into learning about all types and flavors of regenerative, small-scale agriculture. The allure of Texas bbq, cowboy boots and learning to farm in the southern summer heat is what drove her to move to this new place she calls home.

You can find Alex, when she's not digging her hands in the dirt, hiking on nature trails, cheffing it up with various Texas local foods and exploring the vastness her new state-wide backyard has to offer.

While studying Marine Science and Geology at The University of Alabama and in her subsequent work at the US Geological Survey, her interest in climate change and sustainability was sparked.

Mary has spent much of her time actively volunteering in local community initiatives and continues that work as a member of the Junior League of Austin.
